Double dating is a dating method in which two couples date together. Double dating can be a lot of fun if it is between four very good friends. Double dating can be very beneficial for those people who do not know each other properly. In a double dating system people can date in a more relaxing and entertaining manner.

Double dating system has many benefits as well as many disadvantages. Here we will discuss some of the main disadvantages of double dating method.

1.Lack of  Privacy
Double dating system involves a date in which two couples enjoy their time together. Every couple has different views and ideas about an entertaining date, so in a double dating system there is always a lack of privacy. Single dating is much better because of this reason. In a double date you do not feel comfortable in expressing your desires and feelings in front of your partner because of the presence of the other couple.

2.Difference between the two couples
Every couple likes doing different and unique things on their dates. While some couples may like to go on a picnic date where else another couple may prefer a lonely evening in an expensive restaurant. Every person has different likes and dislikes so it is very difficult to decide on something that each person would enjoy doing on a date. So double dating is also not appropriate due to this reason.

3.Couples may feel uncomfortable
Double dating should always be between those couples who are very close or best friends. This is because if you date with a strange couple then it would be very uncomfortable for both the couples. You would never be able to enjoy your date if the atmosphere is tense. One couple may prefer smoking and drinking while another couple may be completely against this practice. So a double dating can be a very uncomfortable experience for you if you are not with people who share your thoughts and views.

4.Loss of your date
A double date will prove very disadvantageous for you if your date likes the person from the other couple more than you. In double dating it often happens that people like the partner of their friends more than their own partners.

5.Unnecessary comparisons between couples
In a double date unnecessary comparisons may arise. Your partner might compare you with the other person’s partner. This often tends to loosen the bond between couples who go on regular double dates.
